Moving from Quittr
Quittr counts your streak. On Guard interrupts the moment and brings one person into it. Install On Guard, invite an ally, and keep Quittr if its streaks and community still help you.

What changes when you switch
Quittr is a motivation app. On Guard is a defense system. They do different jobs, so this is less a swap than adding the part a streak counter cannot do.

Quittr

On Guard
- What it does
- Quittr: Streaks, milestones, a panic button, and an AI support chat.
- On Guard: Detection analyzes the screen in real time on Mac, Windows, and Android, and gates explicit content as it appears.
- Who is in your corner
- Quittr: A community you can lean on.
- On Guard: A human ally you chose gets a short text within seconds when adult content is opened.
- Your next move
- Quittr: Progress you track and review yourself.
- On Guard: On a supported feed on Mac or Windows, Move on offers that platform’s own block or “not interested” in one tap.
What each verdict does
Clean
On your screen: Nothing. You keep scrolling.
To your ally: Nothing.
Suggestive
On your screen: A short nudge on your screen, with a way to move on.
To your ally: Nothing. Suggestive content never reaches your ally.
Explicit
On your screen: A gate goes up: “Explicit content detected.” You can proceed, or move on.
To your ally: On a known adult site, one check-in text: the app, the device and the time.
The gate reads “Explicit content detected.” and, for a known site, “This is an explicit domain.” It renders on your screen before any text goes out.
Three things that change
It works on the feed, not just the moment. When explicit content appears, On Guard puts up a gate, and Move on can do more than close it. On a supported feed (X, Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or TikTok, in your browser on Mac or Windows), it offers that platform’s own block or “not interested” in one tap, so the signal goes back to the algorithm that served it. Nothing happens on the platform unless you tap it.
A streak records what happened. On Guard interrupts the moment and lets you tell the feed that served it.
Someone would know if you quit. Your ally gets a text if On Guard is uninstalled or signed out, or if a device goes quiet for 7 days. It is not parental control: you choose your ally, and they never see the site, a screenshot, or your browsing history.
Quittr’s support is community and an AI chat. On Guard puts one person you chose in your corner.
It stays out of your way. No VPN, no locked-down phone, no schedules to live around. Clean content gets nothing. On Guard steps in only when explicit content is on your screen, and suggestive content gets a short nudge that retires on its own.
Before you switch
The honest line
On Guard has no streaks, no community, and no AI chat, and it runs no detection of its own on iPhone. If those tools carry you, keep Quittr alongside On Guard.
Switch without a gap
Do not cancel Quittr first. Run both for a week so there is never a night with nothing standing guard.
- Install On Guard on every device you own.
Mac, Windows, and Android get full detection. iPhone gets Apple’s adult-site filter plus app nudges.
Run the test run on each device.
It shows you what a gate looks like before you ever need one.
- Invite your ally.
It can be the same person who is your ally or partner today.
Keep Quittr running for a week alongside On Guard.
Once On Guard is standing guard on every device, cancel Quittr.
Cancel through the store or website where you subscribed to Quittr.
Pick your first ally
Coming from Quittr, you may not have an ally yet. That is the biggest change, and the most useful one. Pick one man you would pick up the phone for, and send the invite.
The promise
Your ally gets a check-in if an adult site is opened on your devices, with the app, the device and the time. No additional details.

Questions
Do I have to stop using Quittr?
No. They do different jobs. You can keep a streak app and add On Guard for detection and an ally.
Does On Guard have streaks?
No. On Guard stays a defense system built on detection and an ally. If streaks help you, keep Quittr for that part.
Does On Guard work on my iPhone?
Partly. On Guard runs no detection of its own on iOS: iPhone gets Apple’s adult-site filter plus a nudge to move on from the apps you pick. Full detection runs on Mac, Windows, and Android.
